Konarka Names Rick Hess President and Chief Operating Officer
Lowell, Mass. – October 12, 2006 – Konarka Technologies, Inc., an innovator in the development and commercialization of Power Plastic™, a material that converts light to energy, today announced that Rick Hess has been named to the newly created position of President and Chief Operating Officer. Geffken has joined the Company as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. With more than 25 years of experience as a senior financial and general management executive for emerging growth companies, Geffken joins Konarka's management team at a crucial juncture in its history, as it accelerates the development of its Power PlasticTM technology, driving it toward commercialization.  Geffken has been the chief financial officer of one privately-held and four publicly-held technology-based companies.

Renewable Capital to License Konarka’s Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell Technology
July 31, 2006 – Konarka Technologies, Inc., an innovator in developing and commercializing Power Plastic™ that converts light to energy, and Renewable Capital Ltd, an investment firm that identifies and invests in renewable technologies, today announced the licensing and joint development of Konarka’s dye-sensitized solar cell technology for large-scale production. The agreement will further the commercialization of Konarka’s dye cell technology by bringing on large-scale production capabilities.
